The Orange - Pike Kids Directory is our second directory. We began publishing our
Rockland and Bergen Directory almost 2 years before this one. Ironically, both
books were started by another person, and then sold to us after they began to
become more of a full time job, and less of a part time work at home business.
Make no mistake, if you are thinking of becoming a publisher this is a full time
job, and requires you to do a lot of painful learning. The Kids Directory is a
professional advertising agency, its expenses are high, and returns can be higher.
It is not an easy home business, we spend many hours beyond that of a 9 - 5 job to
make our directories successful.
Both Cindy and I have backgrounds that allow us to work together and produce two
fine books each month. We are both from Rockland, and today live in
Orange County.
Cindy has had friends in Orange County for years and is very familiar with the county.
She works hard with distribution billing, customer contact, coordinating ad updates,
and many more behind the scene activities.
I have a finally got the chance to use the knowledge from the advertising classes
I took in college. I also have graphic skills, and along with making some of the ads
in our directories, I maintain both websites myself.
Together we work daily to make these directories a "must have" magazine for parents,
and a "must be in" for Child, Parent, and Family centered business'
